Before
leaving Los Angeles, I had the chance to work on a Fox
Searchlab production. Fox Searchlab is a Fox
Searchlight Pictures program that looks to discover and test new talent, both
in front and behind the camera.
The production I worked on was Certainly
Not A Fairytale. For a limited time only, you can
view the film online at the Searchlab website.
I was asked to work as the Boom Operator by Tom
Curley, a friend of mine who I met online a year or so earlier
(you'll see his name in the credits below). Unfortunately they
appear to have applied distorting effects to the dialog, so it
isn't a good showcase, but the experience was great and worth documenting.
We had the opportunity to work on the Fox backlot, on the set of
NYPD Blue and around the lot.
A few still shots (sorry, I cannot provide the film itself for
obviously reasons of copyright):

Photos from the set:

This is on the NYPD Blue set.

Here I am, continuing to look excessively dorky. The director is wearing the
black vest.

On the left, I couldn't help but grab a photo of myself in front of one
of the several murals on the Fox Studio Backlot, this one obviously being
of Star Wars. Why did I take a photo of myself in front of the Everyman
Pictures door sign? Because the 16mm short film I was Unit
Production Manager and Steadicam Operator on at Full
Sail, was called Everyman's Story.
